Robert L. Taylor, Jr., 59 of Cherry Valley, passed away at UMass Medical Center on Saturday, February 25, 2023 after a courageous battle with cancer.
Bob was born in Worcester, a son of the late Robert L. Taylor Sr and Betty J. (Matejko) Taylor, and was a graduate of Leicester High School. Bob worked as a heavy equipment operator for A.F. Amorello & Sons for 24 years before his retirement and was a member of the Local 4 Union.
Bob was an avid Motorcycle enthusiast who loved his 2008 Harley Davidson Ultra classic and volunteered in many charitable bike rallies and events. He enjoyed snowmobiling with friends and family all across New England and the White Mountains. One of his favorite places was Old Orchard Beach where he spent many summers with loved ones and friends camping. Bob was incredibly handy and always had a love for tinkering. He inherited the Nickname “MacGyver” from his love of working on vehicles, constructing, and always having a way of bringing things back to working order. Bob had a big heart and would be the first to offer a helping hand, but never expected anything in return.
He is survived by the love of his life (his queen) of 31 years, Christine M. (Barry) Taylor; two sons, Robert L. Taylor, III and Patrick J. Taylor and his Girlfriend Hannah Toner all of Cherry Valley; 6 siblings, Cindy L. Guntor and her husband, Gary Smith of Cherry Valley, Joel D. Martin and his wife, Charlene of Orlando, FL., Janice A. Setaro and her husband, Steven of Worcester, Patricia J. Giuffrida and Steven R. Winkelmann of Cherry Valley, Robin M. Dawe and her husband, Jimmy of Hyannis, Kimberly LaFleur of Union, CT.; many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and lifelong friends.
