Fahima Shabo

October 8, 1926 — April 11, 2018

Fahima (Mirkhan) Shabo, 91, of Worcester passed away home to the Lord, April 11, 2018 with loved ones gathered at her side.  Born, raised and lived in Kamishli, Syria one of seven children of Joseph and Shmouny Mirkhan; immigrating to the United States and in particular Worcester with her family in 1992.  Fahima’s husband Andraos Shabo passed away in 2003;  She is survived by her devoted children,  Four sons, Albert Shabo and his wife Lou, Edward and Daniel Shabo, Titos Shabo and his wife Jadwiga all of Worcester; two daughters, Amel Makadsi and her husband Abdulmasih in Sweden and Mageda Shabo of Worcester;  4 brothers Abdulmasih, Mikael, Gabriel and Fouad Mirkhan,  and two sisters in Syria, Aliz and Louisin;  12 grandchildren; two great grandchildren; Many nieces, nephews, and extended family both here in the United States and Syria.   Fahima was a devoted and faithful member of St Mary Syriac Orthodox church in Shrewsbury.  She cherished her faith, the bible and especially her family.  She never spoke a bad word about anyone and made sure her family never did.  She read the bible extensively, cherished God and the bible teachings and made sure she passed those on to her children and grandchildren.  “Christ is risen” Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Thursday, April 12th from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm and again on Friday April 13th from 10:00 am to 10:45 am in St Mary’s Syriac Orthodox Church, 1 Industrial Drive, Shrewsbury.  Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 am.   Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery.   In lieu of flowers memorial remembrances in her name can be made to St Mary’s Syria Church, 1 Industrial drive, Shrewsbury 01545
