Pascual Rivera, 78, of Worcester, passed away on Friday, March 9, 2018 at UMass Hospital in Worcester. Pascual is survived by his wife of sixty-two years, Agapita Hernandez; a daughter, Rosa Luz Rivera of Worcester; five sons, Pascual Rivera of Florida, Antonio Rivera, José Ramon Rivera, Angel Rivera, and Tomas Rivera, all of Worcester; two brothers, Luciano Rivera of New Jersey, and Venancio “Toño” Rivera of Worcester; nine grandchildren; twenty-six great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Pascual was predeceased by a son, Victor Rivera in 1980, and by a grandson, Alexander Pagan in September 2016. Pascual was born in Puerto Rico, son of Tomas Rivera and Monica Hernandez. He lived there for many years where he worked as a carpenter. He moved to Worcester in 1984, and has been a faithful member and parish volunteer at Saint Joan of Arc Church. Calling Hours for Pascual will be on Sunday, March 18, from 5 pm to 8 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral Mass will be on Monday, March 19, at 10 a.m. in Saint Joan of Arc Church, 570 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
