James “Jim” White, 92 of Worcester passed away peacefully Sunday, March 4th 2018 following a lifetime of challenges. James was a loyal friend of “Bill W” He will be missed by all his friends at the “High Noon Group” including Marley, Joe, Kevin, Paul, Vinney, and Gerard. With special gratitude to Bob Crown for his loyalty and continued care for Jim, and Loretta Carol for her unwavering help, guidance and assistance she gave to Jim. He was born in Stamford, CT, a son of James B. White Sr. and Gertrude (Trog) White. He then joined the U.S. Marine corps serving his country proudly during World War II, in the pacific, taking part in the battles of Guam, Okinawa, and Marianas Islands. Upon return from service, Jim once worked as a plumbing supply salesman. He was a dedicated faithful catholic, notably attending Mass daily at Our Lady of the Angels Church or wherever he could before he couldn’t get to church anymore. He then attended mass by watching the daily mass on television. James was well known in the AA Community, a member of the Crozier House since overcoming addiction over 38 years ago. He has lived in Worcester since 1970, after becoming sober, he became a true dedicated counselor helping others overcome their addiction. James funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:30 am Thursday, March 8th in Our Lady of the Angel’s Church, 1222 Main St. Burial will be in Worcester County Memorial Park, which is private. There are no calling hours.
