Catherine M. “Kay” (Shea) Montville, 88, resident of Charlton, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully Sunday, March 4th 2018 with her beloved family at her side after a long battle with dementia. . Kay was born in Worcester, one of four children of Daniel and Mary (Kelly) Shea. Raised in Worcester, she graduated from Classical High School Class of 1947 and Hahnemann Hospital School of Nursing in 1950. Kay worked as a district nurse traveling school to school for the City of Worcester’s School Department before becoming the “Nurse” at Worcester Boys Trade School. Her compassion and care touched the lives of many students and staff. She retired in 1991 after 38 years of service. Kay is survived by the family she devoted her life to; The “Love of her Life” and husband of 63 years, George J. Montville Jr.; her four children, Donald J. Montville, his wife Jennifer and their children, Laura and her husband Eric, Donald Jr, Brian and his fiancé Emily, and Patrick; Thomas F. Montville, his wife Susan and their children, Sean and Rachael; Mary J. Leslie, her husband Stephen and their children Jennifer and her husband Rob, Daniel and his wife Jaylynn and Kevin; Richard M. Montville, his wife Patricia and their children Christopher, Connor and Joseph; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. A brother, James Shea and sisters, Ruth Paquette and Virginia Rae all pre deceased her. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Friday, March 9th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Saturday, March 10th from the funeral home with a procession to St Joseph Church, 10 H. Putnam Rd Ext, Charlton where her celebration of life Mass will be held at 11:00 am. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
