Ronald C. “Butch” Baker, 80 of Millbury, formerly of Worcester and Shrewsbury, passed away peacefully at home with his family on Friday, March 2, 2018. Butch was born in Worcester, a son of the late Dorothy (LaBuff) Baillargeon where he attended Worcester schools. He worked as truck driver for various companies but for the last 30 years for Redstar Express where he was also a former road steward until he retired in 1995. Butch was the founder and president of the 10-20 Club, a member of Golden Glove Boxing, the Question Marks, Teamster’s Union and also a deputy sheriff for the Worcester County Sheriff’s Department. Butch was a Harley Davidson enthusiast and a friend to many who had a deep love for family and friends and will forever be remembered as a true “LEGEND.” Butch is survived by his beloved wife and best friend of 30 years, Stephanie A. (Strickland) Baker; eight sons, Raymond Smith of Worcester, Robert Baillargeon and his wife Cherrise of Charlton, Richard Baker of Worcester, Daniel Baker of Spencer, Chad Baker and his wife Danielle of Worcester, Brian Baker and his wife Michelle of Worcester, Anthony Frongillo of Millbury and Clayton Baker and his wife Meagan of Auburn; two daughters, Heather Scirpoli of West Boylston and Tiffany Baker of NY; a sister, Mildred, Mercon of Manchester, NH; eighteen grandchildren, two great grandchildren, many loving nieces and nephews. He is predeceased by three brothers, Warren Baker, Harold Baillargeon, Jr., and Robert Baillargeon; two sisters, Winifred Baillargeon and Carolyn Hanley. Services for Butch will be held on Friday, March 9, 2018 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass of Christian Burial to be celebrated at 10:30 am in St. Brigid’s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery in Worcester. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Butch’s family on Thursday, March 8th from 4-7 pm in the funeral home.
