Josephine B. “Pepi” (DeQuattro) Corio, 96 formerly of 9 Angela Ave., passed away at 12:15 am on Thursday, February 22, 2018 at Lutheran Rehabilitation in Worcester from progressive dementia. She was on March 18, 1921 in Worcester, MA, daughter of the late Joseph and Francesca (Ricciardi) DeQuattro. In addition to her parents, Pepi is predeceased by two brothers, Andy and Paul DeQuattro and three sisters, Mary F. DeQuattro, Yolanda A. Barbato and Philomena Powers. Her loving husband, Henry J. Corio, died in 1985. She will be missed by her daughter, Ann Marie Corio and son-in-law James Madaio; her two grandsons, Brain A. Samela of NY and Gary M. Samela of Shrewsbury. She also leaves two great grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and her dearest friend, Mary Ferraro of Worcester. Pepi worked for several years in Worcester at various jobs. She last worked at Dunkin Donuts on Boston Turnpike in Shrewsbury. Her greatest loves were ball room dancing, bingo and gardening. The family wishes to thank the Lutheran Nursing Home, especially the second floor staff, for their compassion and care and for singing along with her to all of her favorite tunes. Relatives and Friends are invited to a period of calling hours from 4-7 pm on Monday, February 26, 2018 at the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Her funeral mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am on Tuesday, February 27, 2018 in St. Anne’s Parish 130 Boston Turnpike, Shrewsbury. Burial will follow in St. John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
