Dorothy A. (Fantasia) Carlson, 90 of Sabana Hoyos, Puerto Rico formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully on February 17, 2018 at Pavia Hospital in Arecibo Puerto, Rico surrounded by her loving family. Dorothy was born and raised in Worcester, a daughter to the late Domenic and Carolina (Scricco) Fantasia. She was the owner and a hairdresser of Mae Dolls Beauty Shop on Franklin Street in Worcester retiring in 1977. Dorothy also worked at Knollwood Nursing Home. After retirement, Dorothy moved to South Harwich, Cape Cod where she lived for 30 years before moving to Puerto Rico in 2016 to be closer to her daughter. She was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church. Dorothy loved needle point, bowling and occasionally a good golf game. Dorothy’s husband, Edwin A. Carlson passed away on August 4, 2002. She is survived by her daughter, Linda Mendez and her husband Angel of Puerto Rico; her son, Stephen A. Corio and his wife Elizabeth of Worcvester; her sister, Mary DiLiddo of Worcester; four grandchildren, Tracey Sbrogna, William Sbrogna, Rebecca Salem and Nicole Corio; seven great grandchildren, Nate Richard, Justin and Zachary Sbrogna, Giana and Alaina Tamanaco, Olivia and Nicholas Salem; nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by two brothers, Patsy Fantasia, Sr. and Alfred M. Fantasia. Dorothy’s funeral service will be held on Monday, February 26, 2018 at 11 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Entombment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held on Sunday, February 25th from 4-6 pm in the funeral home.
