Alice “Dale” Watson, 65, of Worcester, passed away in her home on Friday, February 16, 2018, surrounded by her loving family. Dale is survived by three children, a daughter, Shiella M. Givins of Worcester; two sons, Brian L. Watson, Sr. of Rhode Island, and Willie H. Watson and his wife Melissa of Worcester; her mother, Elliot (Workman) Curry of Worcester; a brother, James Watson of Florida; a sister Jeanette Walker of Worcester; sixteen grandchildren, Brian Jr., Kendall, Courtney, Nathan, Tyrell, Marcus, Bryce, Remond, Kadijah, Willie Jr., Johnny, Justin, Joshua, Jacob, Mark Jr., and D’Sharn; nine great grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, relatives and friends. She was predeceased by her long-time friend, Willie Givins, Jr.; her dad, James Watson, Sr.; her step dad, Calvin Curry; a sister, Jarvis Gresham. She was born in Belmont, North Carolina, moving to Worcester in 1965, after her family returned from being stationed in Germany with the United States Army. She graduated from Doherty Memorial High School, and has considered Worcester her home ever since. Dale was a CNA for over thirty years at numerous nursing homes throughout the city, before she retired. She had previously been a dispatcher for the Worcester Police Department. She was a member and Deaconess at Emmanuel Baptist Church, and was dedicated to serving the church and the congregation. She will be remembered by her family as a loving person who enjoyed precious times with them; as well as for her crazy sense of humor. Calling Hours for Dale will be on Wednesday, February 21, from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral Service will be on Thursday, February 22, at 11 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
