Carol. J. Varnas, 65, of Worcester, passed away on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at Saint Vincent Hospital. Carol is survived by her two sons, Chad Varnas and his wife Cassandra of Atlanta, and Cody Varnas of Worcester; a grandson, Brady Drew Varnas; three sisters, Alice Chestna of Manchaug, Katherine Senosk and Ruth Fener both of Worcester; many nieces and nephews, including Brian Warren, with whom she lived; and her best friend, Robin Blanchard of Worcester. She was predeceased by three sisters, Barbara Lamonica, Pauline Peters, and BettyAnn Hendrickson. Carol was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Benjamin P. and Delia (Sawiski) Varnas, and has lived here all her life. Carol loved to be with her family, especially her grandson, who brought a bright and shining light of love into her life. She was a member of Saint Stephen’s Church and attending the Worcester Senior Center. Carol enjoyed yoga, walks, exercise, collecting tea pots and flower arranging. She will be remembered for dressing up as the Easter Bunny for many years at Wholley Cannoli in Worcester, where she passed out Easter eggs to all the children. Calling Hours for Carol will be on Wednesday, February 21, from 4 pm until 7 pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Thursday, February 22, at 10 a.m. in Saint Stephen’s Church, 357 Grafton Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
