Matthew Paul Bullis, 20, of Worcester, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2018, in Boston Children’s Hospital, after a very short illness. Matthew Paul is survived by his loving mother, Jean Louise McManus, with whom he lived; his brother, Jonathan C. Bullis of Worcester; his girlfriend, Gabryanna Cardenas of Oxford; his maternal grandmother, Beth DeBonis McManus of Worcester; his paternal grandparents, George E. and Maureen (Wile) Bullis of Templeton; many aunts, uncle, cousins, and friends. Matthew was predeceased by his father, Paul T. Bullis, and his maternal grandfather, Charles E. McManus, in 2011. He was born in Worcester, and has lived here all his life. He attended St. Peter Central Catholic Elementary School from pre-k to eighth grade, graduated from Holy Name High School, Class of 2015, and was attending Quinsigamond Community College. He was a member Saint Bernard’s Church of Our Lady of Providence Parish. Matthew enjoyed fishing and looked forward to fishing at Queen’s Lake in Philipston at the grandparent’s camp; and enjoyed spending time with family and friends in Falmouth on Cape Cod. He was a talented drummer and guitar player, he enjoyed gaming, baseball and basketball. The family would like to express their gratitude for the exceptional care provided by all of the doctors, nurses, and staff at UMass Memorial Medical Center - University Campus, Boston Children’s Hospital, and Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Calling Hours for Matthew will be on Sunday, February 18, from 3 p.m. until 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral Mass will be on Monday, February 19, 11 a.m. in Saint Bernard’s Church, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester (Mass attendees are asked to go directly to the church on Monday morning). Interment will take place on Tuesday, February 20, at 11 a.m. in the Saint Lucy Section at Saint John’s Cemetery, Cambridge Street, Worcester. Donations in his memory may be made to The Marfan Foundation or Boston Children’s Hospital Trust.
