Michael A. “Guido” Belsito, 69 of Worcester passed away peacefully, at home on Saturday, February 10th 2018 surrounded by the ones he loved. Michael was born and raised in Worcester, a son of Joseph P. and Anne (Martellotta) Belsito. He attended North High School and joined the U.S. Marine Corps serving his country proudly in Vietnam from 1967 to 1969. Michael was a 100 percent Disabled Veteran; he worked several jobs over his working career, retiring as a laborer for DiRoberto Construction. Michael’s wife Jane (Sokolowski) Belsito passed away in 2006. He is survived by two daughters Ann Marie Belsito-Guiou of Worcester and Tanya Mailea of Erie, PA; a sister, Gina Belsito-Bottomley and her husband BIll, with whom he lived; two brothers, Tony Belsito and his wife Debbie of Richmond, WA and Joseph Belsito Jr. of Westborough seven grandchildren, Nicole, Brandon, Vanessa, Wilfredo, Tristen, Althea, and Michael; three great grandchildren, Connor, Cecilia and Jeremiah; many loving nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Besides his parents, Michael was pre deceased by his brothers, Salvatore “Sal”, John and a sister, Marie Belsito-Bottomley. Michael was a member of the Tatnuck American Legion Post 288, and the Disable American Veteran’s Chapter 4. He was an avid golfer, enjoying many a day of the golf course with his best friends and brothers, both in Worcester and in Florida. He liked listening to music, the New England Patriots, and sitting outside in the backyard in front of the fire. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Wednesday, February 14th from 3:00pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. A prayer service will follow at 6 pm. Burial will follow at a later date with his parents, brother, sister and other family members.
