Lucy (Bisceglia) Aquino, 101, of Worcester passed away peacefully with family gathered at her bedside, Wednesday, February 7th 2018 after a brief illness. Lucy was born on November 28, 1916, in West Boylston, one of seven children of Fabio and Marie (Silvestri) Bisceglia. Raised in Worcester, she graduated from Commerce high school. Soon thereafter, Lucy married the ‘Love of Her Life” Philip Aquino, and began a life together raising their family until Philip passed away in 1993. Lucy continued to live a full active life with her children, both here and in Florida until just recently. Lucy worked for the City of Worcester, School Department at Doherty High School before retiring. Lucy is survived by her devoted family; Her daughter and best friend, Janice DeFusco and her husband Ronald with whom she lived, Maureen Pingalore and her husband Raymond of Seminole, Florida, Lucille Dufresne and her husband Mark of Brandon Florida; her six grandchildren, Deborah Raschke and her husband Jerry in Houston Texas, Ronald DeFusco Jr. and his wife Tracy of Worcester, David Pingalore and his wife Tara in Orlando, Michael Pingalore and his wife Tina of Belle Plaine, MN, Nathan Dufresne and his wife Sarah of Seminole Heights, Florida, Aimee Griffin and her husband Robert of Valrico, Florida; nine Great granchildren; Many nieces, nephews and extended family members. She joins in heaven, her husband Philip, Son Joseph who passed away in 2005, brothers, John, Matteo, Leo and Michael Bisceglia and sisters Nellie Paladino and Madeline Riccardi. Lucy was a founding member, active mass attendee, former volunteer of many church festivals and a member of its leisure club, of Our Lady of Loreto Church; and the Mt Carmel Golden Years. She loved to garden, play cards the Boston Red Sox and travel to Florida to be with her daughters. A simple soul, who kept active, loved people and was especially proud of her family and their accomplishments. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Sunday, February 11th 2018 from 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be celebrated Monday, February 12th from the Funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd where her funeral mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial with her husband and son will follow in St John’s Cemetery.
