Theresa A. (Boyer) Rochette, 84, of Berlin passed away at home Saturday, January 27th 2018 with Michael, her devoted husband of 45 years by her side. In death, she rejoined her late sons Mark Ferrandino, Anthony Ferrandino, her sister Phyllis Courville, and mother Beatrice Skene. Theresa was born and raised in Worcester, one of 4 children of the late Wilfrid Boyer and Beatrice (Boyer) Skene. She lived many years in Westborough raising her seven children and when she married Michael in 1972, they continued to raise their wonderful combined family before moving to Berlin in 1996. Theresa began her adult life as a homemaker, and when her children were all in school worked part time for local electronic and computer companies doing assembly work and wire-wrapping. She later started her own contract electronic assembly firm, Logic Engineering, specializing in prototype and short run assembly work. In addition to being a much beloved Mom and Grandmother, Theresa was a woman of many interests and had a never ending love for life and adventure. She and Michael once embarked on a motor trip to explore the full length of the old Route 66. They enjoyed camping with family in their pop-up trailer for many years throughout New England. She retired in 1996 at age 62, but over the years thereafter went on to take a ride in a NASCAR stock car at 140 mph, a ride in a WWII B17 bomber, and most recently a hot air balloon ride for her 80th birthday. She was an accomplished seamstress throughout her life, and in her retirement her passion turned to designing and making beautiful quilts for everyone in her family. In 2011, she collaborated with her daughter Lisa, who was employed as a nurse for severely handicapped children at Seven Hills Pediatric Foundation, to make over 100 personalized lap quilts for the children in Lisa’s care. The Telegram and Gazette later featured a story on their wonderful project. Her unique artistic touch was visible in everything she made to the delight of her family. More than anything, Theresa loved family gatherings, planned or impromptu where great food, wonderful stories and much love was shared by all. She particularly enjoyed hosting Christmas Eve celebrations for family and friends. Her kind, generous nature and radiant smile will be missed beyond words, but her quilts will continue to keep her memories alive. Theresa is survived by her large family; husband and partner, Michael J. Rochette; her 10 children, Gary Ferrandino and his wife Lois of Douglas, Michael Ferrandino and his wife Sandra of Elk River, MN, Andrea Wojnarowicz and her husband Joseph of Benton City, Washington, Lisa Thibodeau and her husband Paul of Dunedin, FL, Frank Ferrandino and his wife Karen of Bedford, NH, Alan Rochette and his partner Evelyn of N. Andover, Adrienne Rochette of N.Grafton, Jennifer Galbraith and her husband Scott of Worcester; their 3 children Scottie , Max and Evi and 7 other grandchildren; five great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and extended family members. At Theresa’s request there are no calling hours or funeral services planned. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date for family and friends. Memories and kind words for Theresa can be placed on the Mercadante website . Remembrances in her name can be made to the Worcester County Food Bank, 474 Boston Turnpike Rd, Shrewsbury.
