Rose E. (DiTaranto) Gentile- DiPilla, 89, of Worcester died peacefully Friday January 19, 2018 in the Odd Fellows Home surrounded by loved ones. Her first husband Lawrence Gentile predeceased her as did her last husband Gino DiPilla. Rose is survived by her children; Donna C. Forbes and her husband James of Worcester, her grandson Anthony of Auburn, her son Lawrence Gentile Jr. and his wife Theresa of Charlton, and David Gentile and his wife Ann of Florida. Rose also leaves her grandchildren Lawrence Gentile 3rd, Gina, Domenic, Kristen and Jessica, and several great grandchildren. She was predeceased by her grandson Angelo. Rose is the last of all her siblings, Peter, Vincent, Vito Angelo, Joseph and Frank DiTaranto and sisters; Ida Gingerelli and Rosemarie Robinson all predeceased her. Rose was born in Worcester son of the late Michael and Elizabeth (Perrone) DiTaranto and has lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Brom’s Hairstyling Academy. Rose was the owner and operator of two Beauty Salons in Worcester before she retired. A longtime member of the Church of Our Lady of Mount Carmel, Rose was a very active parishioner. She was always helping with the various Church Bazaars or Dinners. She was a member of the Worcester Lodge #168 Sons of Italy in America, and also Mt Carmel Golden Years, and the Summit Elder Care. Rose enjoyed spending time at her home on the Cape, and loved listening to all types of Music. She was an excellent cook and really enjoyed being with her family. She always had a zest for life and enjoyed her life very much. She will be sadly missed by the people’s lives she touched. Rose’s family would like to thank the entire staff at the Odd Fellows Home for their kindness, compassion and excellent care of Rose during her stay there. It will always be remembered. Rose’s funeral will be held on Tuesday January 23 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 10:00AM the Church of Our Lady of Loreto 33 Massasoit Rd. Calling hours will be held on Monday January 22, from 4PM to 7PM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St. Johns Cemetery.
