On December 30, 2017, Heaven celebrated the New Year early by welcoming a new angel, Ellen Marie Madulka. Ellen was born on December 28, 1961 in Whitinsville, Massachusetts into the quaint, Irish family consisting of her father John Skeary, who she reunites with hand-in-hand in Heaven, her mother Mary “Mimi,” and her brother Michael. Growing up, she has always been involved in extracurricular activities as a student government representative and sports like tennis, softball, field hockey, cheerleading, basketball, and track and field. After earning her Associate in Science Degree in the Legal Secretary Program, she added to her knowledge working for topnotch law firms. Ellen was also recruited as a model to a local agency. Encouraged to enter the Worcester County Model of the Year Pageant in 1982, she walked away with the top award and title as “Model of the Year.” Ellen’s presence was so bright it not only lit up the rooms she walked in, but also the lives of the people she encountered. Needless to say, she always seemed to gravitate many friends and eventually caught the eye of a lucky Worcester man, Michael T. Madulka. Utilizing her experience, she assisted in building the foundation of Mike’s business. However, she soon found her true calling in life as a committed, full-time mother of five children. Ellen’s love was creative, proud, warm, and everlasting; nothing less than extraordinary. Fortunately, her best qualities and talents live on through her children- Michael Thomas III, 28, John Patrick, 26, Daniel Harris, 24, Molly Margaret, 22, and Meghan Ellen, 21. They say there is nothing like a mother’s love, but Ellen’s sons and daughters experienced much more. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with Ellen’s family on Tuesday, January 16, 2018 from 4-7 pm with her memorial service to begin immediately at 7 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
