Rose (Aloise) Mungo, 96, of Shrewsbury, passed away in the comfort of her home on Sunday, January 7, 2018, with loving family members at her side. Her Dear husband of Sixty-two years, Joseph N. Mungo, predeceased her in June 2013. Rose is survived by her children, three sons and three daughters, Anthony N. Mungo of Rutland, Joseph Mungo of Princeton, Paul Mungo of Miami, Mary Feeley and her husband Stephen J. of West Boylston, Catherine R. Coston and her husband Kent of Eastford, CT, and Roseann Miner and her husband Timothy of Marshfield; two brothers, Antonio Aloise and Francesco Aloise; a sister, Caterina Fiorenza; six grandchildren, Matthew, Meghan, Michael, Brittany, Cody, and Ryan; three great grandchildren, Lucas, Winter Rose, and Charlie Ann; many nieces and nephew. She was predeceased by five siblings, Gregorio, Paolo, Giuseppe, Agazio, and Georgia. She was born in Squillace, Italy, daughter of the late, Cosmo and Madelena (Aloise) Mungo. She lived in Italy for many years, before moving here in 1952. While living in Italy, Rose worked in an Orphanage for many years, before meeting her future husband Joe, while he was stationed there with the U.S. Navy. After they married, she moved to the United States to be with her new husband, and raise their family. Rose will be remembered as a wonderful woman who worked hard and was dedicated to her family. She was a member of Saint Anne’s Church, and enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens. She also enjoyed spending time with her grand and great grandchildren. Calling Hours for Rose will be on Friday morning, January 12, from 8:30 a.m. until 10:15 a.m., when a procession will depart for an 11 a.m. Funeral Liturgy in Saint Anne’s Church, 130 Boston Turnpike Road (route 9 east), Shrewsbury. Entombment, beside her husband, will follow at Notre Dame Mausoleum, Worcester.
