Carol J. Hopper

Carol J. (Swett) Hopper, 73, of Worcester died peacefully on January 1, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Ms. Hopper was born in Worcester the daughter of the late William Swett and Irene (Moore) Drake and has lived her entire life in Worcester.  She is survived by her sons, Patrick Swett and Shawn Hopper and her daughter, Kelly Ann McCoy.  Carol was an exceptionally loyal and devoted grandmother to three grandchildren, Brandon McCoy, Tre’ Spence and Andrea Evans; two great grandchildren, Brandon McCoy, Jr. and Jennalys McCoy; a brother, Walter Drake of Hubbardston; two sisters, Alice McCrae of Georgia and Helena Cassin of Hubbardston and many nieces and nephews.  Besides her parents, she is predeceased by two brothers, William Swett, Jr. and David Swett. Carol worked for over ten years as an Activities Director for the Radius Healthcare Center. She was also a member of the Order of Eastern Star.  Her most treasured times were those spent with family.  She will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved her. Carol’s Funeral will be held on Tuesday, January 9, 2018 at 6:00pm in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Calling hours will be from 4:00 p.m. till 6:00 p.m. in the funeral home prior to her service.
