It is with great sadness that the family of Willie Gene Pitts Sr., 70 of Natick, formerly of Worcester, announces his peaceful passing after a brief yet terminal illness on Sunday, December 31st 2017. He was surrounded by family when he passed and we know that he is now resting peacefully and without pain. Willie was born in Oak Ridge, Louisiana, a son of the late Gilbert Pitts and Lula (Smith) Dyer. He was raised and lived in Oak Ridge, before moving to Massachusetts at the age of 18. Willie is survived by the love of his life and wife for over 30 years, the mother of his children Susan Seay-Pitts; his eight children, Laurie Ann Joyner, Tonette Pitts, Nikki Harthorne, Willie Pitts Jr., Jennifer Pitts, Courtney Pitts, Jasmine Pitts and Teresa Seay; his mother, Lula (Smith) Dyer and her husband Douglas Dyer; eight siblings, Florine Guthrie, Gilbert Pitts, Jr, Larry James Pitts, Sadie Pitts-Walker, Sandra Reese, Diane Tolson, Douglas Dyer Jr. and Angela Dyer: eight grandchildren; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Willie was pre deceased by his younger brother Philip Pitts. If you knew Willie, better known as OG WILLIE PITTS, then you knew him for the entertaining, charismatic and very stylish man that he was. He loved sports, especially baseball and fishing was another one of his favorite things to do. Willie was without a doubt, the life of the party wherever he was and he filled everyone's hearts with memories of him singing and dancing, while dressed to the T, most likely in something leather! Funeral services for Willie will be held Tuesday, January 9th at 11 am in Mt Sinai Church of God in Christ, Wellington St Worcester. Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery. A period of calling hours will be held from 9:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service in the church.
