Yolanda A. (Piccinino) Minchillo, 96, a long-time resident of Worcester, passed away on Monday, January 1, 2018, at the Knollwood Nursing Center, surrounded by her loving family. Her loving husband, Severo J. Minchillo, predeceased her in May 2005. Yolanda is survived by three sons, Vincent J. Minchillo and his wife Tiziana of Shirley, James H. Minchillo of Worcester, and Raymond A. Minchillo and his wife Jean of Sutton; a brother, Leonard J. Piccinino and his wife Lucy of Placentia, CA: two sisters, Natalie A. Zois of Worcester, and Gloria M. Trafecante of Northborough and Florida; two grandchildren, Nadia Minchillo of Shirley and Giulia King and her husband Brad, and her great grandchildren, Emmett and Harrison, all of Fitchburg; many nieces and nephews. Yolanda was predeceased by two brothers and two sisters, Armando A. and Joseph A. Piccinino, Carmella R. Gill and Helen L. Mangini. She was born in San Severo, Foggia, Italy, daughter of the late Giacomo and Maria Severina (D’Errico) Piccinino. She moved here with her family when she was three months old and has called Worcester her home, ever since. Yolanda worked at Whitman’s Creamery for many years, retiring in 1989, she had previously worked as an accounting clerk for the Worcester Telegram, and as clerk in the women’s department at the former Marcus Department Store. She was a member of Our Lady of Loreto Church, the church Leisure Club, the Catholic Daughters of America Cardinal Wright Chapter, where she served as President, Regent, and Secretary. She also volunteered at Saint Francis Home and with The American Red Cross. Calling Hours for Yolanda will be on Sunday, January 7, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be held on Monday, with family and friends gathering at the funeral home from 8:45 a.m. to 9:30 a.m., then departing in procession for a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Road, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
