Dolores T. (Massad) Gallo, 86, of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Sunday morning December 31, 2017 in the comfort of her home surrounded by loving family. Her husband of forty-five years, Carmen Gallo predeceased her in 1995. Dolores is survived by her two loving children, Steven Gallo and his wife Lisa of Franklin, Diane LaBak and her husband Robert of Worcester; four grandchildren and one great grandchild, Matthew LaBak and his wife Lauren and their son Zachary, Elizabeth LaBak and her fiancé Nicholas Shaw, Marissa and Nicholas Gallo; two brothers, David G. Massad husband of the late Bette D. (Melnikoff) Massad of Westborough and Philip P. Massad and his wife Geraldine of Shrewsbury; a sister-in-law Dorothy Massad of Worcester wife of the late Donald G. Massad; along with many nieces and nephews. Born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Philip and Helen (Zine) Massad. Dolores graduated from Commerce High School and has lived in Worcester all her life. Dolores was a fashionable lady working for many years at Macy's and Lucky Lady selling women's clothing. She was a devoted wife and mother, truly dedicated to her family. She was a wonderful cook and enjoyed special times with her children, grandchildren, her brothers and their families. She liked to travel and was an avid New England sports fan who enjoyed the Red Sox, Celtics and Patriots. The family would like to give a special thank you to all of her care givers for the love and compassion shown to Dolores and her family. Her comfort and happiness would not have been possible without the help of cousin Pudgie, Karin, Halina, Cheri, Betty, Cara, Akua, Philomena, Angelica, Janet, and Margaret. Friends and family are invited to gather for Calling Hours on Thursday, January 4, 2018, from 3 p.m. to 8 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. Her Funeral will be on Friday, departing the funeral home at 9:40 a.m. in procession to a 10 a.m. Funeral Mass at Saint John’s Church, 44 Temple Street, Worcester. Interment will follow at Notre Dame Cemetery, Worcester.
