Patricia "Pat" Elizabeth Gaudette

Patricia “Pat” Elizabeth Gaudette, 71, of Auburn, a long-time educator, passed away on Sunday, December 24, 2017 at Rose Monahan Hospice Residence, with the love of her life and family at her bedside, following a twenty year battle with cancer.  Pat is survived by her dearest friend and companion of forty-six years, Edwin Bartolomei; three sisters, Virginia Lange and her husband Bradford of Sutton, Barbara Burke and her husband William of Centennial, CO, and Donna Mastrovito and her husband Robert of Worcester; four nieces, Nicole LeBlanc of Leicester, Deanna Povec and her husband Joseph of Boston, Emily Steuter and her husband James, and Jaclyn Gerbus and her husband Bradley, all of Colorado; two nephews, William Burke of Colorado, and Joseph Mastrovito of Boston; great nieces, Tiana George, Olivia Steuter, Lily and Ella Gerbus; great nephews, Austin Steuter and Ryan Gerbus; and her beloved cats, Maggie and Max.  She was predeceased by a niece, Stephanie LeBlanc.  Patricia was born in Worcester, daughter of the late, Rudolph E. and Ellie (Pantoni) Gaudette.  She graduated from South High School and followed her desire to educate.  She graduated from Worcester State Teachers College, now Worcester State University, with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and a Master’s Degree in Education Administration. She dedicated her career to the education of the youth of the City of Worcester, working in the Worcester School Department for over forty-one years, retiring in 2012 as the Principal of the Jacob Hyatt Magnet School.  She was a member of Saint John’s Church and the Massachusetts Teachers Association. Patricia loved spending time with Edwin and her family; especially when summering at their home in Westerly, Rhode Island.  She will be remembered as a caring and dedicated person who was loved by many.  She was blessed to have many friends from high school and within the Worcester School Department. A graveside service at Notre Dame Cemetery will be held privately.
