Violet Miranda (Wright) Bragg, 59 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 5, 2017 at UMass Memorial Medical Center surrounded by her beloved family.Violet was born in New Bern, North Carolina, a daughter of the late Bishop Wright where she was a graduate of New Bern Senior High School. She moved to Worcester in 1980 where she has lived until her passing. Violet received her associate’s degree in child development from Quinsigamond Community College and her certification in health and wellness. She worked for over 20 years as a supervisor of the Robert F. Kennedy School, a Juvenile detention center in Westborough. She also worked for a period of time at Worcester State Hospital. Violet was a faithful and dedicated member of Belmont A.M.E Zion Church where she was the coordinator of the children’s choir, a member of the adult choir, the dance ministry and also a church trustee. She was blessed with a voice from God and loved singing. Violet also enjoyed traveling and going on cruise with family and friends and loved the many dogs she had over the years most recently her dogs, “Perfect Health” and “Wellness.”Violet leaves behind her loving husband of 37 years, Ronald Bragg; four children, Vondel Wright, Tekeya Hochard, Morrion Wright and Shanae Bragg; her mother, Gertrude A. (English) Johnson; five grandchildren, Daiyasha Baldwin, Valerie Wright, Keynila Hochard, Imara Bragg and Justin Bragg-Apateo; two great grandchildren, Jermaine and Jayciere Phillips; five sibling, Vonda McAfee, Darlene Pender, Lorene Ollison, Helen Chapman and Bishop Wright; her mother-in-law, Lucille Grier; eleven nieces and nephews, Yashica Wright, Chase McAfee, Anell McAfee, Charlie McAfee, Louis McAfee, II, Desmond McAfee, Marlio Wright, Teryl Wright, Shawndra Pender, Alesia Chapman and Artelus Bragg; many great nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family and say there final farewell to Violet on Monday, December 11, 2017 from 9-11 am with her Homegoing Service to immediately begin at 11 am in Belmont A.M.E Zion Church, 55 Illinois St., Worcester. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made in her memory to Belmont A.M.E Zion Church, 55 Illinois St., Worcester, MA. 01610.
