Mona (Khairallah) Kahale, 56, of Auburn, fell asleep to the Lord peacefully after a courageous fight with cancer on Saturday, November 25th 2017. She passed away surrounded by her entire family by her bedside whom she loved so much. Mona was born and raised in Monsif, Lebanon, one of four children to the late Nassif and Juliette (Younis) Khairallah. She earned her Bachelor of Liberal Arts degree from St. Joseph University in Lebanon. Mona then met her lifelong companion, George W. Kahale, and in October of 1987, married and immigrated to the United States. For the next 30 years, they lived in Auburn with love and devotion to one another. While in Lebanon, Mona worked in the banking industry, and continued in the same field while living in the United States. Later in life, she accepted a position at the Auburn Middle School as an English Second Language teacher, which she truly loved and was inspired by. Mona is survived by her husband, George; her three children, Joelle Kahale-Khoury and her husband Daniel, Nicola and Karla Kahale, all residing in Auburn; a cherished granddaughter, Chloe; two brothers, Ziad Khairallah in Lebanon and Dr. Ramzi Khairallah in New York; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Her sister, Najat (Khairallah) Andary of Germany, predeceased her. Mona was an active member of both St. George Orthodox Cathedral and the Our Lady of Mercy Church. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life; spending time with family and friends, entertaining, cooking her delicious Lebanese specialties, traveling to Lebanon to be with her granddaughter, daughter and other family members. She put everyone else’s needs before hers no matter what. She was always the backbone of her family, and it was her boundless love and faith that kept them grounded through life’s challenges. Family and friends were the love of her life and she always had room in her heart for everyone she met. Mona was a gentle and giving soul, who will be deeply missed. The Kahale family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff of the Dana Farber Cancer Institute and the St. Vincent Hospital for the compassion, care and dedication they gave to Mona and her family during a very difficult time. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours, Friday, December 1 st , from 4:00-7:30 PM at St. George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, Worcester, MA.
