Curtis L. Doughty, 62 of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at UMass Medical Center. Curtis is survived by his longtime companion of 41 years, Barbara Doughty; four children, Donnie Doughty and Robyn Doughty both of Worcester, Nina Doughty and his future son-in-law, Charles and Lisha McCormick all of Virginia; a step-daughter, Maretta Poston of Worcester; two brothers, Robert and Andrew Doughty; three sisters, Wanda Doughty, Geraldine Guyton and Bertha Mae Welch all of Alabama; nine grandchildren, including twins, Ni’Ari and Zamar’e; several great grandchildren including, Persayes and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by five siblings, David and Leon Doughty, Dixie Mae Peck, Sue Mae Moore and Earlene Murphy. Curtis was born in Gordo, Alabama, to the late Jerry Lee and Myrtie (Hughes) Doughty. He has lived in Worcester since 1974 where he worked many years in construction. Curtis loved playing cards, fishing, laughing, playing jokes on everyone and most of all being with his family. Calling hours for Curtis will be held on Sunday, November 26th from 3-6 pm with his funeral service at 6 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. Burial will be held on Monday, November 27th at 12:00 noon in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
