Salvatore J. Belsito, 72, of Millbury, died peacefully Tuesday November 21, 2017 in the Life Care Center of Auburn surrounded by his loving family. Sal’s wife, Donna (Hart) Belsito predeceased him October 31, 2013. Sal is survived by his loving children; Alan Henrichon and his wife Kim of Millbury with whom he lived, Ernie Henrichon and his wife Pamela of Pennsylvania, a daughter Jodi Lynn Belsito-Sheilds and her husband Richard of Napa Valley CA. Sal also leaves his brothers Joseph Belsito of Westborough, and Michael Belsito of Worcester and Anthony Belsito and his wife Debbie Of Washington State., and a sister Gina Bottomly of Worcester. Sal was the proud grandfather to seven grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren, and nieces and nephews. H e was predeceased by a son Joseph “Joey” Belsito in 2014, and also a Brother John and sister Marie. Sal was born in Worcester son of the late Joseph and Ann (Martellotta) Belsito and lived in Worcester many years before moving to Millbury. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School, and also Becker Junior College. He was also a graduate of Brom’s Hairstyling Academy. He was a proud Navy Veteran serving on the USS Yosemite and USS Laffey. While in the service he was trained as a Welder. After he graduated from Brom’s opened his own Beauty Salon “ Salvatore’s Hair Designs” in Worcester and North Grafton. In 1980 he won the New England Hair Stylist Award. Sal operated the business from 1979 to 1993 when he retired. After that he returned to work at Perrone’s Barbershop in Shrewsbury. Upon retiring he loved spending time in Naples and Orlando Florida. Sal had a great personality, loved meeting and interacting with people and always looked on the bright side of life. His most treasured times were when he was with his family, especially his grandchildren. He will be sadly missed by his family and friends. He would always tell everyone he was the oldest of 7 brothers and sisters! He loved to Golf, and hit a hole in one at the Golden Gate CC in Naples, and two at the Fairways CC in Orlando. He was a starter at the Fairways in Orlando for several years. In Worcester Sal was a member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles, The Knights of Columbus, and the East Side Post # 201 American Legion. Memorial calling hours for Sal will be held on Saturday November 25, from 8:30AM to 11:00AM in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. A service will follow at 11:00AM in the funeral home.
