Matthew J. Wallace, 31, of Spencer, formerly of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 11, 2017. Matthew is survived by his daughter, Lily Wallace; his parents, Michael and Susan (Denio) Wallace of Worcester; Lily’s mother, Brittany Higgins of Spencer; two brothers, Sean P. Wallace of Worcester, and Ryan M. Wallace and his wife Melissa and their children, Mackenzie and Maddox all of Waltham; his paternal grandparents, Harold and Eleanor Wallace of Worcester; his maternal grandmother, Joanne Denio, wife of the late Matthew Denio of Worcester; aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends. Matthew was born and raised in Worcester, spending most of his life here before moving to Spencer a year and a half ago. He graduated from Doherty Memorial High School, and later attended Quinsigamond Community College. He then graduated with a Certificate in Facilities Management from The Peterson School. Matthew was a Warehouse Manager for Rotman’s Furniture. His daughter was the light of his life and she renewed his faith each day. You would always find him playing a “new” song that moved him with an eagerness to discuss its merits. He enjoyed attending concerts and shows when he wasn’t outdoors and playing disc golf. He will be remembered as a good man, a wonderful father, loving son and awesome brother. He had a passion for living and those around him. The smile on his face was an outward expression of the love and kindness he had in his soul. Calling Hours for Matthew will be held on Wednesday, November 15, from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be on Thursday, November 16 departing from the funeral home in procession at 10 a.m. for a10:30 a.m. Mass at Christ The King Church, 1052 Pleasant Street, Worcester. Interment will follow in Saint John’s Cemetery, Worcester.
