Shirley (Garganigo) Frongillo

Shirley M. (Garganigo) Frongillo, 86 long time Shrewsbury resident passed away peacefully with her family gathered at her side Saturday October 28th 2017 after a brief period of declining health joining in Heaven her daughter Nancy Coppellotti. Shirley was born in Worcester, one of three daughters of Salvatore and Theresa (Guerra) Garganigo.  Raised in Shrewsbury, Shirley graduated from Shrewsbury High School, and has lived in Shrewsbury all her life.   Shirley, is survived by her two children, Henry A. Frongillo, III and his wife Sheila of Contuit, Sally Davolio and her husband Michael with whom she lived; her former husband Henry Frongillo, Jr with whom she remains friends; four grandchildren, Gina Burns and her husband Trevor, Lea Keddy, Alyssa Paulhus and her husband Jonathan, Nicholas Davolio and his girlfriend Kate O’Keefe; four great grandchildren, Francesca, Dylan, Anthony & Ryan; Nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.   Her daughter, Nancy Coppellotti and sisters, Ruth Lysik and Doris Dumas all pre deceased. Shirley was a member of St Anne’s Church.  She enjoyed her senior trips with friends, bingo, crocheting, making Afghans for family and friends.   Shirley was a simple woman, whose life centered on family.  The greatest moments in her life were those spent with her children, grand and great grandchildren?  They were her life’s  inspiration. Having them around her brought smiles to her face and pride in her heart.   Funerals services and burial next to her daughter Nancy will be held privately.  There are no calling hours.  Memorial contributions in her name can be made to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave, Norwood, MA 02062.  The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St Worcester is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
