Alfred "Foxy" Haddad

Alfred M. “Foxy” Haddad, 87 of Worcester former local business owner, passed away peacefully surrounded by family, Friday, October 27, 2017.  Alfred was born in Worcester, one of three sons of Fred G. and Evelyn A. (Jalboot) Haddad.  Raised in Worcester he attended commerce high school, opened businesses and raised a family with love, dedication and devotion.  Foxy, worked all his life; He founded, nurtured and directed two successful businesses; AM Haddad Distributors and Fox Cleaners for over 50 years before retiring.   On November 18, 1951, Alfred married the love of his life, Barbara Evangeline, enjoying love and family for the next 60 years before Barbara passed away in 2010.  He is survived by the two sons he cherished and found so much Love with, Gregory Haddad of Millbury and Brad Haddad of Worcester; his granddaughter Nicole and her husband Matthew; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.  Alfred was pre deceased by his two brothers, Walter Haddad whom he was extremely close to passed away in August and Melvin Haddad. Alfred was a member of St George Orthodox Cathedral, and the Syrian-Lebanese Club on Plantation St where you could usually find him on Wednesday evenings laughing and playing cards with friends.  Notably one was always able to know when Alfred was in a room, as his signature pipe and the aroma of his Captain Black Tobacco could be detected.  A humble, unassuming man, Al was very easy going.  He enjoyed being with Greg, Brad and Nicole, whether it be breakfast at friendly’s or the regular family gatherings.  As long as he was with them his life was complete.   Friends and relatives are invited to a period of calling hours Friday, November 3rd from 8:30 am to 10:45 am in the St George Orthodox Cathedral, 30 Anna Street, followed by his funeral service at 11:00am.  Burial will follow in Hope Cemetery.  In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in his name can be made to St George Orthodox Cathedral Building Fund, 30 Anna Street Worcester 01604.  The Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist with the arrangements.  The Haddad family would like to offer a special thank you to Jane Duca, Elaine Nault and the staff at St Vincent Hospital for the care, comfort and compassion they gave to our Dad during a difficult time.
