James Michael Heenan, 69, of Grafton Hill, Worcester, Massachusetts, passed away on October 24, 2017 from complications following an illness. He was surrounded by his family. The wake calling hours will be held from 4pm to 7pm on Friday, November 3, 2017 at Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel 370 Plantation St. in Worcester, Massachusetts. The funeral will be held following the calling hours from 7pm to 8pm. James was born in Worcester, Massachusetts on December 26, 1947. He graduated from Commerce High School. Upon graduation, James joined The United States Army and served three years as a medic in Germany. After his active service, James received an Associate's Degree from Quinsigamond Community College and went on to receive a Bachelor's Degree from Worcester State. James was married to Grace B. Heenan (Bania) on September 8, 1972; they were married for 43 years. James worked as a business manager at Raytheon Company for over 40 years. He enjoyed sports, coaching his sons, time in the mountains, coffee, golfing, and spending time with grandchildren, family and friends. James is survived by his wife Grace B. Heenan, his two children, Jeffrey Heenan, Matthew Heenan and his wife Alisa Heenan; his five grandchildren Avery, Camden, Riley, AJ, and Victoria; his brothers David Heenan and John Heenan; his sister Kathy Legacy; his niece and three nephews; and the rest of his relatives and friends.
