Mary-Ann (L’Esperance) Messina, 60 of Worcester, formerly of Grafton, passed away on Monday, October 23, 2017, in the comforts of her home, with her family by her side. Mary-Ann was raised in Grafton by her parents, Paul and Mary-Ann L’Esperance. As a child, Mary-Ann discovered her love of music. She spent countless hours, throughout her life, developing her musical talents with the flute. She was a graduate of Grafton High School, Class of 1975. Mary-Ann attended classes at Lowell University and also St. Vincent’s School of Nursing. She later married and moved to Worcester, where she devoted her life to God, her husband, seven children, and grandchildren. Mary-Ann worked as a home health aide for 44 years at various businesses including Beaumont Rehabilitation and Skilled Nursing Centers, Senior Comfort Services and Notre Dame Hospice, retiring in October of 2016 due to illness. She was also a faithful member of The Mill Church in Millbury where she taught Sunday school for many years. Mary-Ann is survived by her husband of 41 years, Thomas J. Messina, Sr.; her seven children, Thomas J. Messina, Jr. and his wife Shannon of Sturbridge, Daniel Messina and his wife Katie of Paxton, Angela Vivlamore and her husband William, Jr. of Herkimer, NY, Hannah Perry and her husband Edmond of Grafton, Josiah Messina and his wife Tara, Rebekah Cressman and her husband Daniel and Micah Messina all of Worcester; sixteen grandchildren; Fourteen siblings, and many nieces and nephews. Mary-Ann’s funeral service will be held on Friday, October 27, 2017, at 11:00 am in The Mill Church, 45 River St, Millbury. Burial will follow at Riverside Cemetery, Grafton. Relatives and friends are invited to visit with her family on Thursday, October 26th from 4-8 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
