Hector Omar Diaz passed away to be with the Lord on Saturday, October 7, 2017, at the age of 38. Hector was born in San Juan, PR and moved to Worcester with his family at the age of 8.Hector is survived and lovingly remembered by his parents, Edwin H. Diaz and Lydia E. Roman; his siblings Lynnette Diaz, Omaris Diaz and her fiancé Jose Colon and Francisco J. Diaz and his wife Pricila Diaz; his girlfriend Nicole Smith; his maternal grandmother Ana Maldonado; aunts, uncles and cousins; his nephews and nieces Edwin, Tatiana, Jessenia, Alexis, Rachel, Adriana and Francisco Jr., who were like sons and daughters to him; and 2 great-nieces Giselle and Camila. He is predeceased by his maternal grandfather, Victor M. Roman and his paternal grandparents, Francisco Diaz and Petra Gomez. Hector graduated from Worcester Vocational HS – Electrical Program in 1997. He worked at Barry Electric and was currently employed as a Foreman Electrician at DMH Electrical in Sterling. Hector loved to spend time with his family and friends and enjoyed cooking for them. He was a local sports fan. He was known for his great generosity, kindness and amazing work ethics. Hector will be greatly missed by his family, friends and co-workers. Funeral services for Hector will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 12:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester. A period of calling hours will be held from 10:00 am to the start of the service. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery, Worcester.
