Mark D. “Chet” Prunier, 55, of Boylston, passed away on Monday, October 2, 2017, at UMass Hospital, after becoming ill at home on Sunday evening. Mark is survived by his loves, his wife of twenty-five years, Teresa A. (Howley) Prunier, and their daughter, Ashley A. Prunier of Murphysboro, IL; his father Norman Prunier of Worcester; a brother, Norman Prunier Jr., and his wife Joanne of Wareham; three sisters, Darlene Nocella of Colorado, Christine Brunelle and her husband Fred of Worcester, and Tina Chan and her husband Warky of Worcester; many nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his best friend, John Gagliardi of Millbury, who Mark considered a brother; and John’s entire family who were Mark’s second family. Mark was born in Worcester, son of the late, Carole (Flagg) Prunier. He graduated from North High School and later from Worcester Industrial Technical Institute. Mark retired recently as Senior Vice President of Information Security at Bank of America, where he had worked for thirty-three years. He had previously worked for Conifer Computer, Fleet Bank, and Bank of New England. He was also currently working as a stage hand and lighting coordinator at the DCU Center in Worcester. He was a member of the I.A.T.S.E., local 96. He loved to travel, especially if it involved visiting a National Park. Mark will be remembered fondly by those who knew him, as a kind man with a caring soul, always willing to lend a hand to anyone. Calling Hours for Mark will be held on Friday, October 6, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. in MERCADCANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester. His Funeral will be held on Saturday, October 7, at 10 a.m. in the funeral home. Interment will follow in Pine Grove Cemetery, Boylston.
