Theresa M. Gracia Monopoli

Theresa (Gracia) Monopoli, 93 of Grafton formerly of Worcester died peacefully Tuesday, September 19, 2017 in St. Vincent Hospital surrounded by her loving family. Theresa leaves her devoted husband of seventy years, Peter N. Monopoli, a daughter Diana G. Mitchell and her husband Joseph of Grafton, and her son Natale A.”Chris” Monopoli. Theresa was also the proud grandmother to Jessica R. Frattura and her husband Michael of Wellesley, and David J. Mitchell and his wife Nara of Grafton. Theresa is also the great grandmother to Michael and Luca Frattura, and also leaves her brother John P. Gracia, and many nephews and nieces. Theresa also leaves to mourn her passing her brothers and sisters in law, John Monopoli and his wife Carol, and Gaetano Monopoli and his wife Tina. She was predeceased by three brothers, Domenic, Anthony, and Joseph Gracia, and three sisters, Domenica “Minnie” D’Amico, Catherine DiStefano, and Mary Troiano, also two sisters in law Donatina Dipersia and Angelina Kamyck. Theresa was born in Worcester daughter of the late Pantaleone and Domenica “Minnie” (Fulginiti) Gracia and lived in Worcester most of her life.  She worked at the Worcester State Hospital for many years before she retired. Theresa was a longtime member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann. She enjoyed going to bingo and loved a good day at the Casino with Peter! Theresa lived every moment, laughed every day, and loved beyond words. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Theresa’s family would like to thank Siobhan Cross, and Rose Coppola, and the entire staff of the Summit Elder Care Services for their love, and compassion shown to Theresa and her family. It is truly appreciated and will never be forgotten.  Theresa’s funeral will be held on Saturday September 23, from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a Mass of Christian burial at 11:00Am in the Church of Our Lady of Loreto 33 Massasoit Rd.  A visitation with the family will be held Saturday morning only from 9AM to 10:15AM in the funeral home. Interment will be in St Johns Cemetery.
