Peter A. Buffone, 74, a longtime resident of Sterling died peacefully on Tuesday September 12, 2017 surrounded by loved ones. Peter leaves his devoted wife of 51 years Joan E.(Rickertsen) Buffone, a son David P. Buffone and his wife Megan of Grafton, a daughter Valerie E. Therrien and her husband Joseph of Ludlow. Peter was the proud grandfather to, Xavier, Yvonne, Zechariah, Olivia, and Michael. Peter is also survived by his brothers, Frank Buffone Jr, of Leicester, and James Buffone and his wife Lois of Worcester, his sisters, Rosemarie Courville and her husband Clifford of Auburn, Barbara Van Dyke and her husband Brian of Fort Myers Florida, and Nancy Swett and her husband Bruce of Worcester. Peter also leaves many nephews and nieces. He was predeceased by a brother Joseph Buffone and a sister Dorothy Landry. Peter was born in Worcester, son of the late Frank and Louise (Corda) Buffone, and has lived in Sterling for 49 years. He was a graduate of Worcester Boys Trade School. Peter worked in the shipping and receiving department of the Wire Way Husky Company for many years before he retired. He was a former member of St. Richard of Chichester Parish, and was a member of the Turners Social Club, and the Sterling Senior Center. Peter was an avid bowler and played on many leagues in Worcester. He loved playing cribbage and pitch, and enjoyed a good day at the casino with Joan. His most treasured times were when he was with his family, especially his grandchildren. Peter was a loving Husband, Father, Grandfather, and Brother who will be sadly missed by his family and friends. A visitation with the family to honor Peter’s life will be held on Friday September 22, 2017 in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. from 3PM to 7PM. PLEASE OMIT FLOWERS.
