Cecile L. (Letiecq) Lucas born November 22, 1919 mother, grandmother and friend, passed away peacefully early Thursday morning September 7th, at The Meadows in Rochdale, MA. She was predeceased by her husband of 58 years, Victor J. Lucas in 1998. Cecile enjoyed her working years as a medical aid in the Recovery Room at St. Vincent's Hospital on Providence Street. Later she served as an insurance clerk at State Mutual and Paul Revere. Active in community, she especially loved singing with 'The Jolly Jill’s in Worcester nursing home for over 18 years. She had a passion for travel which took her and Vic to almost every continent: Europe, Africa, China & Japan. They were ever so grateful and appreciative for all their opportunities to expand their modest 7th. and 8th grade educations and inspire their children toward advanced degrees. Cecile truly believed that Faith , Family and Friends were the most important things in life. She was generous with her love, time and resources especially for her grandchildren whom she loved dearly. She leaves five children, seven grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren. They are respectively: Victor jr. with wife Dee of Houston TX; Anita wife of Bill Zollo of Norfolk, MA; Allen with wife Melissa of Barre; Janice; and Donald Lucas of Worcester. Grandchildren & great grandchildren are: Lisa wife of Rick Giunta with sons Dane & Caden of Houston TX; Lauriann wife of Dr. Sam Shen with son Owen of Stanford U, CA; Alex; Grant with wife Jackie and son baby Owen; Alison Zollo with husband Dave LeBleu, son Lucas and daughter Grace; Renee Zollo Collins with husband James and daughter Brianna; Michael Zollo with wife Carly of Valencia, CA and children Olivia and Lauren. Cecile had many nephews and nieces with whom she embraced till the end. She is predeceased by her parents, Gustave and Alexina (Pageau) Letiecq and all the members of her Letiecq family including 3 brothers and a sister. Cecile will be remembered for her optimism, determined, independence, and for her enduring FAITH and Love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus. Calling hours will be at St. Stephen's Roman Catholic Church, 357 Grafton St., Worcester, MA Monday Sept l Ith at 10 am with Holy Mass at 11 AM.
