Freda (Antar) Jarrouche , 77, of Worcester passed away peacefully Sunday, September 3, 2017 in UMass Memorial Medical Center. Freda was born on October 21, 1939 in Damascus, Syria and was preceded in death by her father, Christopher Antar and her mother, Sarah (Chammas) Antar. Freda’s faith was very important to her. She enjoyed worshiping at St. Mary's Syriac Orthodox Church. There she found a second family in her fellow parishioners. Freda was a stay-at-home mom. She loved raising her family, which meant the world to her, and as evidenced by Freda’s commitment, this was her primary purpose in life. Until she was too ill to do so, Freda loved serving holiday dinners to her family and celebrating their individual birthdays. She was an excellent cook and enjoyed sharing her recipes with her family. She is survived by two sons; James Hadayia and his wife Raylene from Dedham and Mike Hadayia of Worcester; two daughters, Darlene Gray and Wendy Nordstom and her husband David both of Worcester. She is also survived by ten grandchildren, five great grandchildren, one brother and two sisters and several nieces and nephews ncluding Lara, Dany, Maya, Rony, and Lena Antar, whom she raises as her own children. She is predeceased by two brothers. Friends and relatives are invited to visit with the family Friday, September 8, 2017 from 5:00 pm to 8:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Reverend Maroutha Hanna will celebrate his funeral service at 10:00 am on Saturday, September 9th in St. Mary’s Syriac Orthodox Church, 1 Industrial Dr. Shrewsbury (Please go directly to church). Burial will follow in Notre Dame Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, family request that donations in Freda’s memory be made to St. Mary’s Syriac Orthodox Church, 1 Industrial Dr. Shrewsbury, MA 01545.
