Michael A. Drohan, 62, of Worcester died peacefully on Wednesday August 23, 2017 surrounded by his family after a courageous battle with cancer. Michael leaves behind his wife and best friend, Diane (Blondin) Drohan, a son Michael Drohan of Worcester, two stepsons, Bill Shultz and his fiancée, Kaitlyn Folds of Concord, New Hampshire, Michael Shultz of Worcester, one stepdaughter, Keri Shultz and her fiancée, Michael Frustaci of Worcester, four grandchildren, Riley, Jacoby, Keagan and Aiden, two brothers, Joseph Drohan of Florida and Raymond Banfil and his wife Nadine of Worcester. He also leaves behind a brother-in-law, Paul Blondin of Worcester, a sister-in-law Marie Santom and her husband, Kevin of Worcester and a brother-in-law Michael Blondin and his wife, Maria, of Dudley along with several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his parents, a granddaughter, Kayley and his beloved golden retriever, Duncan. Michael was a bus driver for the Worcester Regional Transit Authority for 32 years before retiring earlier this year due to illness. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, cheering on the Red Sox and taking trips to Foxwoods. He was a kind, considerate and thoughtful man who will be dearly missed by his family, friends as well as his bus passengers and fellow bus drivers, who he considered his second family. A Funeral Mass in celebration of his life will be held Monday, August 28th at 10 a.m. in St. Bernard’s Church of Our Lady of Providence Parish, 228 Lincoln Street, Worcester. Burial will follow at Saint Johns’ Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Sunday, August 27th from 4 p.m. until 7 p.m. in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, Worcester.
