Mary A. (Lorusso) Ciuffredo,91, of Worcester, a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother died peacefully on Saturday August 19,2017 surrounded by her loving family. Her husband Matteo Ciuffredo died in 1989. Mary is survived by three daughters Lois D. Ciuffredo, Susan Healy and her husband Jack of North Brookfield, Mary Ann Bardier and her husband Ernie of Charlton, and her son Leonard and his wife Juliann of Worcester. Mary was also the proud grandmother to Jennifer and Josh Bardier, Bianca Surabian and her husband John, and Geena Ciuffredo. Mary relished being a great grandmother to Valentina. She leaves many nephews and nieces. Mary was predeceased by her brothers Samuel, Frank, Ralph, and Patsy, and her sisters, Maria, Grace, and Marguerite. Mary was born in Worcester daughter of the late Michael and Angelina (Torresi) Lorusso and lived here all her life. She was a graduate of Worcester Public Schools. Mary met and married Matteo Ciuffredo the love of her life and together they settled in the Shrewsbury Street area where they raised their family with love, respect and of course the aroma of Mary’s fantastic cooking and baking that would fill all three floors of the house! Her home was always open to the many friends and neighbors that stopped by to visit her and enjoy her hospitality. True to her Italian Heritage she loved to cook, bake, crochet, and most of all she enjoyed being with her family. Her home was truly a place of warmth and love for everybody, especially during the Christmas season. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends. Mary was a long time active member of the Church of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel-St Ann and its Golden Years Club. Mary’s family would like to thank the staff at Christopher House for the care and compassion shown to Mary and the family during her stay there, it will be lovingly remembered. Mary’s funeral will be held from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. on Thursday August 24, 2017with a mass of Christian burial at 11:00AM in the Church of Our Lady of Providence at St Bernard’s 228 Lincoln St. A calling hour will be held from 9AM to 10:15AM in the funeral home.
