Josephine L. (DePiro) Verdolino, 94, of Worcester, died peacefully August 8, 2017 in St. Mary’s Healthcare Center surrounded by her loved ones. Her husband of 41 years, Armand “Red” Verdolino, died in 1998. Josephine is survived by her daughter Gail M. Scott and her husband Stephen of Dudley, a son Stephen J. Verdolino of Vernon, CT, one sister Theresa Jason of Rhode Island. Josie was the proud grandmother of Ryan and Justin whom she loved spending time with. She also leaves many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her siblings, Vito, Michael, and Stephen DePiro, Christina Kental, Clementine Etre, and Mary Proia. Josie was born in Worcester daughter of the late Stephen and Philomena (Rodriquenz) DePiro and lived here all her life. Josephine was a Dietary Buyer and Supervisor at St. Vincent’s Hospital for 16 years before she retired in 1985. Josie was a member of the Former St. Margaret Mary Church where she taught CCD for many years. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters of America. She was talented at decorating wedding cakes and making floral arrangements. Josephine was a kind lady who will be missed by her family and friends. Calling hours will be held on Saturday August 12 from 9:00 to 10:00 in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL 370 Plantation St. with a service at 10:00AM in the Funeral Home Entombment will be in Notre Dame Cemetery Mausoleum.
