Julia (Lanotte) Cappabianca

November 13, 1921 — July 29, 2017

Julia Ann (Lanotte) Cappabianca 95, of Worcester was welcomed into Jesus’ loving arms for eternity on July 29, 2017. She was born and raised in Shrewsbury, the daughter of John and Angelina J. (Pedone) Lanotte and lived most of her life in Worcester. Her husband, Joseph “Red” Cappabianca predeceased her in June of 2007.  She leaves seven sons; Joseph J. Cappabianca Jr. and his wife Donna of West Boylston, John M. Cappabianca and his wife Laura  of Murrells Inlet, S.C., Leo Cappabianca and his wife Margaret of Worcester, Paul Cappabianca and his wife Gina of Worcester, Michael Cappabianca and his wife Connie of Worcester, twin sons Anthony Cappabianca and his wife Christine, and Mark Cappabianca of Worcester, one daughter, Juliana Hood and her husband Peter of Gloucester, and Daughter-In-Law Ann Cappabianca of Holden, sixteen grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, her Sister-in-Law Rita Sharameta and her husband Richard as well as many, many nieces and nephews.                 Julia was predeceased by her oldest son, Pasquale F. Cappabianca and his loving wife Estelle, her four sisters, Margaret Simone, Mary Albrizio, Josephine DiLeo, and Anna P. Esper, and her five brothers Dominic Colamartino, Carlo Colamartino, Leo Delorto, John Lanotte, and Frank Lanotte.                  Julia’s life revolved around her husband and her family.  They were her pride and joy.  She loved attending sporting events, birthday celebrations, and family gatherings of all kinds.  She was known for her gravy and meatballs.  She welcomed everyone into her home and they never left hungry.  A true Italian mother!  Julia enjoyed bowling, playing bingo, and being with her friends at the Golden Years.  She loved the beach and looked forward to summer vacations on Cape Cod with her family.  She was a devout Catholic and rarely missed a Sunday mass or novena.  Her gracious loving heart touched more lives than she knew.  She will be greatly missed and always remembered. Julia and her family express their profound gratitude to the many compassionate professionals who cared for her in a variety of ways both in her home and at Oakdale Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center.                 A tribute to her life and memory will be celebrated Thursday, August 3rd from the Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel, 370 Plantation Street with a procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 33 Massasoit Rd.where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am.    Burial will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.  A period of calling hours will be held Thursday, August 3rd  from 8:30 am to 10:30 am prior to leaving for church.  In lieu of flowers, we ask for donations to be made to the Oakdale Rehabilitation & Skilled Nursing Center Activity Fund, 76 North Main St., West Boylston, MA. 01583.
