Winifred M. McCarthy

Winifred M. (Keenan) McCarthy, 75, of Spencer and formerly of Worcester, passed away in her home on, July 15, 2017. She is survived by her children, Doreen M. Bauckman and her husband Bill of Spencer, John T. McCarthy and his wife Diane of Worcester and James R. McCarthy and his wife Lisa of Shrewsbury; eight grandchildren, Adam, Kyle and his wife Katie, Ashley Bauckman and Aiden, Julius, Catlain and Colleen McCarthy; one great grandchild, Alex. A sister, Mary Keenan predecease her. Winifred was born in Worcester, daughter of the late Thomas G. and Florence A. (MacIntyre) Keenan. She graduated from Ascension High and has lived in Worcester for most of her life, just recently moving to Spencer. Ms. McCarthy worked for Jamesbury Corporation for many years before retiring. She was a loving mother and grandmother and will be sadly missed by all who knew her. Winifred enjoyed the beach, traveling with friends and family, and most importantly, spending as much time as she could with her family. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Wednesday, July 19th from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street. Her Funeral will be held on Thursday, July 20th from the funeral home, departing in procession at 10:00 a.m. for a 10:30 am Funeral Mass at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, 23 Fales Street, Worcester. Burial will follow in St. John's Cemetery in Worcester.
