Mary K. Markley, 74, of Worcester, worked as a Case Specialist in the Worcester Superior Court Clerks Office, passed away with family gathered by her side Tuesday, July 11th 2017. Mary was born on May 1, 1943, one of four children of Thomas and Alice (Fogarty) Markley. She graduated from Commerce High School, and worked for the Polaroid Corporation for many years before accepting a position with the Worcester Superior CourtClerks Office. Mary is survived by the nephews she truly loved and thought of as her own, Frank, Michael, David and Patsy Santa Maria; her brother in law, Patsy Santa Maria, Sr., a sister, Kathleen E. MacIntosh and her husband Robert of Millbury, a brother, Thomas J. Markley, his wife Patricia and their sons Jay and Sean Markley; a niece Melissa Hobbes, two great nephews, Frank, and Matthew Santa Maria, and two great nieces, Lily and Ava Marie; her pet and best friend Puppa; extended family and other family members. A sister, Ann Marie Santa Maria pre deceased her. Mary was a member of Our Lady of The Rosary Parish. A simple free spirit, who enjoyed traveling, and loved a good practical joke, she loved and considered her nephews as her own, and truly cherished being alongside and with her family and dog. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Friday, July 14th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Saturday, July 15th 2017 from the funeral home with a procession to Our Lady of The Rosary Church, 35 Fales Street; where her funeral mass will be celebrated at 11:00 am. Burial will be private.
