Alice (Migliorelli) Almonte, 97. Of Worcester passed away with family by her side Monday July 10th 2017. Alice was born in Paris, France on July 5, 1920, one of three daughters of Antonio and Assunta (Guliardi) Migliorelli. As a young 10 year old child in 1930, Alice immigrated to the United States with her family and became a United States citizen in 1931. In 1952, in Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, Alice married Patsy “Skinny” Almonte and begun to raise their family over the next 21 years before Patsy passed away in 1973. Alice continued to lead her family with strength, faith and love. She worked over 60 years as a stitcher for many different companies, most of those years for Cottage Tailor before retiring in 1988. She is survived by the family she cherished, her son, Philip Almonte and his wife Maureen, and her daughter, Susan and her husband Paul Bourassa; Her four grandchildren, Kimberly, her husband Chris Caldwell, Brian, Brendan, and Jonathan; She also is survived by four great grandchildren, Joshua, Gavin, Sydney and Nathan; Many nieces, nephews extended family and friends. Her two sister’s pre deceased her; Mary Carbone and Amelia Tomasello. Alice was a member of Our Lady of Mt Carmel Church, the International Ladies Garment Workers Union, Our Lady of Mt Carmel Golden Years and Our Lady of Loreto Ladies Leisure club. Alice loved to travel, take bus trips with the golden years, playing cards, and Bingo. She was the matriarch of her family, always offering her help to her children and grandchildren. She loved to cook and found the greatest moments in her life during family dinners, special occasions and the holidays. A period of calling hours will be held Saturday, July 15th from 8:00 am to 9:30 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St before departing in procession to Our Lady of Loreto Church, 37 Massasoit Rd where her celebration of life Mass will be held at 10:00 am. Burial will follow in St John Cemetery.
