Mary Yvonne (LeClair) Rennie, 81, of Worcester, a devoted mother, grandmother and sister, passed away surrounded by her loved ones Sunday, July 9th 2017 at home. Yvonne was born on Prince Edward Island, Canada on September 27, 1935, one of seven children of John J. and Catherine (Gaudet) LeClair. As a young woman in August of 1954, She immigrated to the United States to help family who lived here. During a dance sponsored by the French Club of Revere, Yvonne met and in 1957, married Raymer T. Rennie. They then began together a 53 year-long life of, love, devotion and family until 2010 when Raymer passed away. Yvonne continued to be the matriarch of her family in her home until today. Yvonne is survived by her seven children, Jeanette A. Allen and her husband William of Worcester, John T. Rennie and his wife Mary E. of Oxford, Paul M. Rennie and his fiancée Michele Duhamel, Raymer A. Rennie, Michael G. Rennie and his wife Sharyn, and Donna M. Rennie all of Worcester, Ann Marie Thomas and her husband Tommy of Auburn; her siblings, Gerard L. LeClair, Roy LeClair and Thelma McInnis all in Canada and Marie “Anne” Harriden of Lawrenceville Georgia. Yvonne is also survived by the nine grandchildren she cherished, Shawn and Cecelia Powers, Jessica Horton, Sara MacDonald, Zachary and Matthew Allen, Timothy and Mariah Rennie and Evan Thomas and three great grandchildren Maurice, Reggie and Lennox; Many nieces, nephews, and extended family members. Yvonne was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Church and a volunteer at St Francis Home. She was a beautiful person who enjoyed the simple pleasures of life, spending time with her family, family dinners, special occasions, the holidays, and all the moments they could be together. In Yvonne’s life, her husband, and children always came first no matter what. She was the backbone of her family and remained devoted to them throughout the good times and not so good times. She truly believed that faith and family were the most important aspects of life and always had room in her heart for everyone she met. Yvonne was very generous with her love, time and resources, and helped anyone she could. Friends and relatives are invited to calling hours Tuesday, July 11th from 4:00 pm to 7:00 pm in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St. Her funeral will be held Wednesday, July 12th from the funeral home departing in procession at 930 am to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, 1290 Grafton St where her funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 am. Burial next to her husband Raymer will follow in Worcester County Memorial Park in Paxton.
