June (Miller) Sanger

June 11, 1929 — June 22, 2017

June F. (Miller) Sanger, 88 of Sutton passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter and son in law in Sterling on June 22, 2017 after a short battle with pancreatic cancer. June was born in New Haven, CT, the only child of Francis and Lillian (LePage) Miller.   She attended school in Sutton where she met Bob in high school.  They were married while he was in the Air Force and moved to Washington DC where he was stationed.  After Bob was discharged, they returned to Sutton where they built the home she has lived in for the past 69 years.   June worked for over 30 years for the Sutton Fuel Company until retiring.   She enjoyed square dancing as a founding member of the Sutton Country Squares, camping in their RV with a group of friends in the Happy Sams club and more recently, playing cards with her close friends at home and at the Sutton Senior Center.  June’s husband of 61 years Robert W. Sanger passed away in 2009.  They were happily married for 61 years.  She is survived by her daughter, Karen Bebka and her husband Alan of Sterling; daughter, Robin Sanger of Big Pine Key, Florida; grandson, Kyle Bebka and his wife Michele of Princeton; granddaughter, Keri Jacques and great grandchildren, Megan Wagher and Nicholas Jacques all of Clinton; extended family and friends; and her beloved cat Pumpkin whom she rescued from a shelter after he became separated from his family during Hurricane Sandy.  Her friends and family will remember her strong will and stubborn yet loving manner. Memorial graveside services will be held Wednesday, June 28th at 1:00pm in Howard Cemetery, Armsby Road, Sutton.  There are no calling hours.  In lieu of flowers, memorial remembrances in her name can be made to Neady Cats, P.O. Box 213, West Boylston, MA 01583.   The MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St is honored to assist the family with arrangements.
