Stephen M. Duggan, Sr., 62 of Worcester, formerly of Millbury, passed away on Father’s Day, Sunday, June 18, 2017 surrounded by his loving family. Stephen was born in Worcester, a son of the late John W. and Jeanne A. (LaPointe) Duggan. He attended Millbury schools and later enlisted in the United States Navy. He served his country proudly where he was a recipient of the National Defense Service Medal. Upon his return, Stephen received his high school diploma. Stephen worked for the City of Worcester Police Department in the auto maintenance department for many years. He later was a cab driver for Yellow Cab and eventually owned his own cab company. Stephen is survived by his four children, twins, Stephen M Duggan Jr. and Jessica Duggan, Jeffrey T. Duggan all of Worcester and Rena Johnson of Canada; his longtime companion, Charlene Poirer of Worcester; his brother, Joseph Duggan of Millbury; three grandchildren, Stephen M. Duggan, III, Antonio & Derek; two nephews, Jonathan and Todd Duggan and a niece, Shannon Duggan. He is predeceased by a sister, Karen Duggan and a brother, John W. Duggan, Jr. Services for Stephen will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2017 from the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester with a Mass at 10 am in St. Brigid’s Church, 59 Main St., Millbury. Burial will follow in St. Brigid’s Cemetery, Millbury. A period of calling hours will be held on Friday, June 23rd from 5-8 pm in the funeral home.
