Genevieve S. French

Genevieve S. “Gig” (Dziczek) French, 97, of Worcester passed away on Thursday, June 15, 2017 at the Christopher House of Worcester.  Her husband, Frank E. French predecease her. Genevieve was born in Worcester the daughter of Joseph and Helena (Rydel) Dziczek on January 3, 1920.  She grew up in Worcester and graduated from Worcester Girl’s Trade School.  Ms. French worked for Presmet Corp. for many years, retiring in 1983.  Gig was an avid reader, enjoyed listening to classical music and loved to travel.  She was a member of Worcester Opera and Our Lady of Czestochowa Parish.  Ms. French is predeceased by her children, Catherine Swenson and Paul French; two brothers, Chester and Ralph Dziczek; three sisters, Josephine Longone, Rose Dziczek and Helen Sestito and her three grandchildren.  Genevieve is survived by many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10am on Saturday, June 24, 2017 at MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street.  Friends will be received at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 9:00 am until the time of the service.
