Robert C. Johnson, 71 of Worcester passed away after a long illness on Monday, June 5, 2017 at St. Mary’s Healthcare Center surrounded by his loving family. Robert was born in Worcester, to the late Carl W. and Alice M. (Christianson) Johnson. He graduated from North High School and was a firefighter for a brief period of time for the Worcester Fire Department. He also worked as a machinist for Jamesbury Corporation. Robert served his country in the United States Navy during the Vietnam War. Robert is survived by his wife of 49 Years, Muriel M. (Brunelle) Johnson; his three children, Curt Johnson and his wife Joey of Nazareth, PA, Michael Johnson and his wife Darlene of Millbury and Cheri Cox of Boylston; six grandchildren, Zachary and Alexis Johnson, Katelyn and Elizabeth Cox, Ashton & Jenny Johnson; one great grandchild, Sofia Ridgeway. He is predeceased by his granddaughter, Ashley Johnson and his sister, Christine Peterson. Relatives and friends are invited to gather on Saturday, June 17th from 9-11 am in the MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation St., Worcester.
