Anna (George) Pillary, 80, long-time resident of Worcester, passed away peacefully on Friday, June 2, 2017 at UMass Memorial Hospital. Her husband of 22 years, Constatine T. Pillary predeceased her in 1991. She is survived by her son, Thomas C. Pillary of Worcester; her beloved granddaughter, Hannah Pillary. She also leaves a brother, Gust George of Worcester; four sisters, Elaine Dionis, Cleo George, Sophie George and Jean George all of Worcester and many nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by four sisters, Catherine Costa, Alexandria Bardho, Naomi Veshi and Mary George. Born in Bradford, Pennsylvania on March 18, 1937, she was the daughter of Peter and Angeline (John) George and was a graduate from Bradford High School. Anna had a long employment at the Paul Revere Insurance Company before retiring. She was a member of Saint Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church and its Women’s Guild. She was a past officer for the Albanian American National Organization and a delegate for the Orthodox Archdiocese of America. Ms. Pillary was also an active participant in the bi-annual Church festival. She was a devoted mother and grandmother and will be missed dearly. The funeral will be held on Friday, June 9th from MERCADANTE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 370 Plantation Street, with a service at 11:00 a.m. in Saint Mary’s Assumption Albanian Orthodox Church, 535 Salisbury Street. Her family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Burial will be in Hope Cemetery.
